Blue Flags 2024: 20 beaches in Campania of which 14 in the Salerno area

The announcement took place during the attribution press conference organized in Rome at the CNR by FEE Italia, in the presence of President Claudio Mazza and the Minister for Civil Protection and Sea Policies Nello Musumeci
20 Blue Flags this year for Campania, of which 14 in the province of Salerno. In particular, the places that have obtained the coveted recognition are Cellole in the province of Caserta, Massa Lubrense, Sorrento, Piano di Sorrento, Vico Equense, Anacapri in the province of Naples, as well as Positano, Capaccio Paestum, Agropoli, Castellabate, Montecorice, San Mauro Cilento, Pollica, Casal Velino, Ascea, Pisciotta, Centola, Camerota, Ispani, Vibonati in the province of Salerno. To be awarded the important banner, the beach must meet 33 criteria, while 38 are those for the landing places. In summary they concern: environmental education and information, water quality, environmental management, services and safety. The recognition is assigned with the support and participation of the two UN agencies: UNEP (United Nations Environment Program) and UNWTO (World Tourism Organization) with which FEE has signed a global partnership protocol and recognized by UNESCO as a world leader in the field of environmental education and education for sustainable development. The main objective of the Blue Flag program is to promote sustainable management of the territory in coastal municipalities through a series of indications that place attention and care for the environment at the basis of political choices. During the summer season, all the locations awarded the Blue Flag are subject to control visits, in order to verify compliance with the criteria established by the program.
